Founded in 2002 by the Pullen Park Terrace neighborhood, the Kirby Derby has grown into one of the most anticipated summer events in Raleigh NC, now held in partnership with the City of Raleigh at Dix Park. With races, parades, music, and plenty of laughs, it’s a one-of-a-kind event that draws neighbors, families, and fun-seekers from across Wake County and the Triangle.


Kirby Derby 2025 Schedule:

3:30 PM: Pinecar Races

4:30 PM: The Parade

5:30 PM: Soapbox Derby

7:00 PM: Live Music


Costumes are encouraged, and creativity is rewarded! This free event is open to the public, and everyone is invited to participate or just enjoy the festivities. Bring chairs, blankets, refillable water bottles, and be prepared for plenty of walking and good old-fashioned fun.
